Temporary COVID-19 Practice Policies

Phone Visits

During the COVID-19 pandemic we will be conducting the majority of encounters by telephone. A visit can be booked by calling our office during office hours.

In Person Visits

We recognize that certain medical concerns cannot be addressed by telephone and cannot wait until regular in person care resumes. In these instances, we will be happy to see you in person. We can accommodate visits during regular office hours. If we cannot adequately address your concern by phone, we will give you the option of coming to see us that day, or as soon as is convenient for you.

In keeping with COVID-19 regulations, we ask that only one person accompany each patient who has a scheduled appointment at the Clinic.  Please arrive no more than 5 minutes early for the appointment, this will keep a limited number of people in the waiting room and exam room and help to keep us all safe.

Prescription Renewals

We aim to ensure that all medications continue without any interruption. We will need to speak with you by telephone to facilitate the renewal of your prescriptions. Telephone visits can be booked by contacting the office. If we receive a request from your pharmacy to renew a medication, we will reach out to you to set up a time when we can connect by telephone to review this request.

All prescriptions are typically reviewed in person by booking an appointment with the office.

See Clinic Policies and Procedures here.

Test Results

If we receive test results for you that were ordered while you were under the care of Dr. Yanover, we will contact you to review these by phone. There are gaps in communication in healthcare, and not all tests that are completed are received by your family doctor. If you have had a test completed, it is always best to contact the office to book a telephone call to review the results of these tests.

All test results are typically reviewed in person. It is the responsibility of the patient, under typical circumstances, to follow up on all tests completed.

See Clinic Policies and Procedures here.

Forms

If you have a form that you need us to complete, please contact the office and we will make arrangements to complete this form for you.

All forms are typically completed by booking a visit with the office, during this visit we will complete your form for you. The majority, BUT NOT ALL, forms can be completed during this visit.

See Office Policies and Procedures here.

Opiates and Controlled Substances

We will ensure that all prescriptions for opiates and other controlled substances are continued through this process. It is important that we are able to verify the dose of these prescriptions as well as other medications that you are taking. In order to re-prescribe these medications we will need to have the records faxed to us from the pharmacy that most recently dispensed these medications. We will renew these medications after talking to you on the phone. Due to the COVID pandemic, we do not require that you come to our office to see us for this.

Opiates and other controlled substances are usually renewed during in person visits only. Ongoing assessment and monitoring is required. Treatment agreements between the patient and prescriber are required. Agreements signed between patients and previous prescriber are not relevant once a new prescriber takes over.
